However, I remained optimistic for some reason and installed the remaining damage-free boards anyway. I should have documented every damaged board and asked for a refund right then and there. At a bare minimum, should floors be able to handle people walking on them? This damage started occurring after 6 months or so of being installed.Īdditionally, a good portion of the boards I purchased arrived damaged. The touch up paint wears off after a few months. That doesn't even come close to fixing that damage. I tried fixing the chips with the Pergo touch up kit. The corners of the board will just CHIP OFF in high traffic areas. The water isn't the only problem with the floor. I would have been much happier if they did not promise a lifetime warranty. If we were going to need to replace the flooring like cheap vinyl flooring or carpet, we should have saved money and anticipated a replacement in a few years. Frankly, I wish we had purchased a cheaper brand. Do NOT buy it and trust that they will uphold their warranty. But do NOT buy it if you want durability. If you want flooring that will wear similarly to carpeting requiring replacement every 5-6 years, the Pergo is beautiful. In fact, they no long sell the flooring we purchased. It failed because their product could not stand up to their warranty. It is NOT because of a problem at our home. They've only communicated with our Home Depot rep. ![]() They have tried every avenue to negate the warranty. They sent a guy to check to see if we had excess moisture in our home or floorboard. ![]() We've sent pictures, answered questionnaires about care and housekeeping, and sent evidence of the mop we use. So, we decided to file a claim to Pergo so that they would stand up for their warranty. I spoke to me regarding durability for a busy household. In the Home Depot, the Pergo display had two giant Great Danes. They had a lifetime warranty for residential use. We purposely chose Pergo - for durability.
